~The Basics~
Name: Gaston Avenant
Nicknames: Gaston, Gassy
Gender: Male
Age: 20
~The Miscellany~
Family: None
Canon: Beauty and the Beast
~The Big Stuff~
Appearance:
Gaston is a big, beefy guy, who clearly works out regularly - his rippling muscles give that away. He's tall, with short, dark hair - he used to have long hair, but these days tends to shave his head, as he feels the skin-head look gives him an edge. Gaston is handsome, sexy, and he knows it - he dresses in tight clothes which emphasise his muscles and other parts of his anatomy... He's often seen to be carrying various hunting equipment, bow and arrow, or, more often than not, a massive shotgun, with a dagger tucked into his boot.
Personality:
Arrogant, ignorant, pig-headed, Gaston is a womanising jerk who everyone loves to hate. He has little to no male friends, as if they're not completely intimidated by him, then they can't stand him because of his tendancy to pick fights. Gaston thinks he is better than everyone, and refuses to see any different, his arrogance almost always getting in the way of any real friendships he might make. Those naive few who do want to be his friend are taken advantage of completely by Gaston, and turn into servants/minions. When it comes to women, Gaston has never been particularly succesful, not that he'd ever admit it. Those women who do fall madly in love with him are generally empty-headed bimbos, and Gaston has a tendancy to fall for women way out of his leauge - women with brains and attitude.
Gaston is an irrefutably good hunter, having been living in The Town for a number of years now, he has become the main hunter, leading the hunts and bringing in food for the town. His abilities don't exactly help with his already massive ego.
History:
Born as the third son of a painfully normal family, Gaston had always known he was different. Growing up, he had never been able to be rid of an overwhelming urge to kill things and mount their heads on his walls, an urge which had become a problem his parents could no longer ignore once he had killed his older brothers' goldfish, hamster and the family cat.
He had also discovered, from almost as early as he could walk and talk, a fascination with women, and more particularly, womens anatomies. As a child, this had been something people had found endearing, but it had become more of a problem as Gaston got older, and was continually trying to look down womens' tops and up their skirts.
The combination of these, along with Gaston's continual beating up of other boys - beatings which often started as fights but, due to Gaston's unusual strength, turned into nothing more than Gaston beating the other boy to a pulp - Gaston's parents had sent him from therapist to therapist, placing him in homes and hostels, all to try and 'straighten him out', as they put it. But nothing could be done, and Gaston could not be changed. One night, after being yelled at for an hour and a half by his father after convincing another boy, who Gaston inexplicably had decided to call LeFou, to drink half a bottle of bleach, Gaston had been sent to his room, the promise of being sent to another correctional facility in the morning. He'd decided enough was enough. Gaston couldn't explain why he was the way he was, but he did know that nothing anyone would do could ever change him. And so, at fourteen years old, he packed a bag, climbed out of his bedroom window and down the gutter, and ran off into the night.
It hadn't been long before he came across The Town. Practically abandoned, run down and rather creepy looking, Gaston had felt an instant sense of home - something he couldn't explain, but, somehow, he felt like he belonged. And he had never left. Discovering he wasn't alone, he, Merlin and Arthur began to set up the town as a refuge for other children like them - the mythlings - creating a place where the children could live and discover themselves in peace and safety. Of course, Gaston's main concern was that there were plenty of girls coming to the town, plenty of animals in the forest to hunt, and plenty of beer in the tavern. The others could deal with the rest.
