So you've read the plot and have the basic gist of what's going on, but you're still confused?
No problem!
The characters here are all reincarnated figures from mythical history, or incarnated figures from fairytale - we'll call them mythlings.
Mythlings were mystically drawn to The Town - that's what everybody calls it, anyway, since nobody seems to know what it's really called.
Ever since the first Mythling arrived, the place was abandoned, derelict. One by one they moved in and set up shop, and slowly a small community has started to grow - helped along by magic wherever possible.
Some of the earliest settlers managed to find a way to trade with the outside world, and help shop owners and such to stock their businesses. There is no electricity, but as many of the residents have magical ability that isn't always a problem, but there's plenty of people to help newcomers adjust, magically inclined or not.
Nobody's even quite sure where it is, everybody's stories on how they got there are too different to get a fixed map reference, it just seems to be wherever it needs to be, whenever a mythling needs to find it.
Mythlings have no memories of their previous lives. They may have feelings of deja vu when similar events occur, dreams that are related more to their past lives than their current ones, or a vague sense of being drawn towards certain objects, actions or people, but they do not, nor will they begin to have, actual memories.
Some of them may have worked out what is going on and who they were, depending on the various clues surrounding them, but it's not common knowledge.
Merlin, as one of the first arrivals to the Town, has been compiling evidence for some time, but has yet to share his findings.
Mythlings who've been around a while take it upon themselves to help newcomers out, to show them around, help them find a place and let them know who to ask for help, who to avoid, and where to go when they need something.
They are organised, upon volunteering (though some do it of their own accord) by the council. The council are amongst the first or oldest mythlings, although sometimes positions change.
Current council members are Arthur (General peacekeeping and organisation), Merlin (Mentors and Schooling) and Gaston (Entertainment and Hunting).
There's a school for the younger ones, and a boarding house for them to stay in, that a few older teens have set up to help them out.
Currently, the oldest mythlings are only in their early twenties, and the majority of the Town's inhabitants are teenagers - usually getting drawn to the Town round about puberty.
Any questions you have about the world or the way it works, ask them here
